Branches & Structure

The Yemeni Dental Association (YDA) is a national organization with a strong local footprint.
Through its provincial branches, YDA ensures that every dentist in Yemen — from Sana’a to Aden — is represented, supported, and empowered.

Each branch plays a vital role in coordinating local professional activities, promoting oral health programs, and ensuring continuous communication between members and the Association’s leadership.

Together, our network of branches forms a unified body dedicated to advancing the science and art of dentistry across the country.

Governorate Branches

The YDA operates through multiple active branches across Yemen’s governorates.
Each branch works under the Association’s national framework but adapts its programs to meet local needs and opportunities.

Main Governorate Branches Include:

Sana’a Branch – Aden Branch – Taiz Branch – Hodeidah Branch – Hadramout Branch – Ibb Branch – Dhamar Branch – Ad Dali

Each branch elects a local committee that coordinates educational events, seminars, and community outreach, ensuring that YDA’s mission is reflected at every local level.

Organizational Structure

The Yemeni Dental Association follows a democratic and professional governance model designed to promote accountability, transparency, and participation among its members.

  1. General Assembly

The highest authority within YDA, composed of all registered members.
It defines the Association’s policies, approves annual reports, and elects the Executive Board.

  1. Executive Board

Elected by the General Assembly, this board oversees national operations, sets strategic goals, and supervises all provincial branches.
It includes the President, Vice President, Secretary-General, Treasurer, and Head of Committees.

  1. Specialized Committees

To ensure professional excellence and effective management, the Association operates through a range of committees, including:

  • Scientific and Research Committee
  • Continuing Education Committee
  • Public Relations and Media Committee
  • Ethics and Professional Conduct Committee
  • Student Affairs Committee
  • International Cooperation Committee

Each committee focuses on a specific area of development, ensuring the Association functions efficiently and meets its objectives.

  1. Provincial Branch Offices

Every governorate branch has its own leadership structure, including a Branch President, Secretary, and Board Members, who coordinate with the central office to align goals and initiatives.

Collaborative Framework

The YDA’s strength lies in its collaborative structure — combining national leadership with local engagement.
This approach enables:

  • Consistent standards in dental education and practice.
  • Efficient communication between branches and central leadership.
  • Balanced representation of dentists from all regions of Yemen.
  • Tailored programs addressing the unique health challenges of each community.
